Alex Saldarriaga is the founder and CEO of Home Health Advocates, Inc. (HHA).
Founding HHA in 2003, Mr. Saldarriaga instilled a mission and philosophy of Care Without Compromise, which drives HHA’s standard of excellence and belief that seniors can and should live fulfilling and independent lives in their own homes while remaining connected to their communities. Mr. Saldarriaga has over 21 years of nursing practice, concentrating the last ten years in home care nursing and geriatric case management. He is active in the health care, LGBT, and business and Latino communities and has served on the Board of Directors of the Tsunami Swim Team, which represents the LGBT community in international events. Mr. Saldarriaga is a graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Business Management Development for Entrepreneurs Academy. He is a current board member of the San Francisco Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is an active volunteer mentor, trainer and speaker for new and emerging small business owners at the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center. He is the 2007 Small Business Administration Business Person of the Year, and the recipient of the 2005 Emerging Entrepreneurship Award from Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center.
Mark Ciano, Executive Director has over 20 years business development and management experience. Mark served as a US Army officer, business development coordinator for the World Trade Centers Association in Russia, China and Central Asia and ran his own design and marketing agency in London. Additionally Mark has extensive experience working in HIV non-profit organizations in the UK and Brazil and served on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Florida.
Jennifer Klempner, Operations Manager has a BA in Psychology from the University of Toledo, Ohio and a Master's Degree in Public Health from the Northwest Ohio Consortium of Public Health (Medical University of Ohio, University of Toledo, and Bowling Green State University.) She participated in the Rural Elderly Health Assessment Program (REAP) in 1999 and 2000, which utilized an interdisciplinary approach to health and safety concerns unique to seniors. Her experience has ranged from education and training to logistics in the business world. She has years of volunteer and internship experience working with the elderly and disabled. She lived in rural Japan for 3 years where she taught English and Western culture to students of all ages, before relocating to San Francisco.
